Glenveagh National Park, Termon
An essential stop on any visit to Donegal. Only 1 1/2 hours from Bundoran. Unspoilt upland area. Gardens and castle with amazing history. Tea rooms. Well worth the trip. Largest herd of red deer in Ireland. Click here
Slieve League cliffs
The cliffs at Slieve League rise more than 600m from the ocean. Said to the highest sea cliffs in Europe. There are also 2 looped walks in the Glencolmcille area. About 1.5 hours from Bundoran on the far side of the bay.
Donegal Castle
A fine 16th century castle where you canlearn all about the history of the O’Donnell clan. Click here
Donegal Bay Waterbus
Take a 90 minute cruise on the Waterbus from Donegal Town, taking in the scenery and history of the area. Click here.
Donegal Craft Village, Donegal Town
Donegal Craft Village is situated just outside the historic town of Donegal on the road to Ballyshannon. Established in 1985 the village has become a showcase for contemporary arts and crafts on the county. Click here
Donegal County Museum, Letterkenny
Donegal County Museum has two exhibition galleries. Temporary exhibitions are held all year round in the ground floor gallery. The first floor gallery contains a permanent exhibition which tells the story of Co.Donegal from the mesolithic to the medeival and of the people places and events from the penal times, through the famine and the land war to world war one and the emergency. Boyle, Co. Roscommon. Loads of activities for families including Tree Canopy Walk, Boda Borg Adventure house, and outdoor kids Adventure Play kingdom. 75 mins drive from Bundoran.

An Grianan of Aileach, Inishowen
Large circular stone fort with origins dating back to 1700B.C. About 30 mins from Letterkenny on the Derry road. Also at the entrance to Inishowen which has some good surfing beaches. Click here.

Lissadell House has played an important role in Irish politics, history and literature and is definitley worth a visit. Click here
Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetry, Sligo
Largest megalithic complex in the country this is a great insight into our ancient past. Only 30minutes from Bundoran. Click here
Benbulben Mountain & Glencar valley, Sligo
This is a great area for walking on a fine day, with spectacular views across Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo and the Atlantic ocean. Famous waterfall at Glencar and also Yeats’ grave in Drumcliffe. Easy enough to find your way on a clear day – we can tell where to start. Get a map and walking boots.
Parkes Castle, Co. Leitrim
